Life drawing resources for 6th form Colleges in the Bristol and Bath Area

As well as being a hugely popular class providing affordable access to life drawing for the wider Bristol area this class continues to be very popular with 6th formers looking to get a portfolio together for art college. Due to the inevitable nudity life drawing and figure drawing can be difficult for teachers to organise whereas block booking a course outside of school hours can actually be a very effective soloution.
Peter O'Donnell head of visual arts at John Cabot Academy has found the class so helpful he's actually brought some of his pupils along. Heres' what he had to say : ".As a teacher of art and design at both A level and Foundation course I cannot emphasis enough the importance of getting students to draw from life. Many students are comfortable when drawing from secondary sources, however when confronted by a live observation they are often underconfident. Life drawing remains one of the foundations on which all art practice is built, yet many students don't get the opportunity to practiceit until they reach art college. Through Will Stevens's life drawing classes my students are able to access life drawing at very affordable rates, even for students, currently 7 of my students attend these classes and the change in their work has been very noticeable, their drawing skills are developing much faster and they are gaining confidence in observational drawing. The other great advantage to these classes is the extra work produced can be added to A level and other qualifications, giving a much needed boost to coursework.'
To encourage 6th formers not to leave things to the last minute I am currently giving a £5 discount to any who pay by cheque well in advance of the term. Please contact me for more details
